Deep Dive Into Warm Water: Electrify Water Heating in Passive House Construction

The focus of this presentation is the challenge of integrating heat pump water heaters into cold climate, Passive House homes and high rises, with case studies and discussion of available and soon-to-market products. Related water heating conservation measures–3/8″ piping, pipe-in-a-pipe insulation, manifold vs. trunk-and-branch–will be briefly discussed for those with interest in delivery system best practices, but this presentation is intended to help Passive House designers get rid of that last fossil fuel load without having to pioneer the design strategies.
